CLASS

1. It is recommended that you take full benefit of all classes, seminars and scheduled activities.
2. Always be on time. This means arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your class start time. Check in with the counselors each morning. We will call a parent or guardian if you are gone and have not previously notified staff of your absence.
3. Staff will supervise students at the end of the day during pick-up from the Temple building. As parking can be difficult downtown, the staff will walk students downstairs to the Temple Building doors and watch students as they depart in their respective cars. This way parents do not need to park and come upstairs.

4. Heat and humidity can lead to dehydration, so drink plenty of water! You may carry water with you in closed lid water bottles. No open containers of pop, juice, or sugary drinks that could be spilled will be allowed. Please bring water with you every day as it is the best thing for your dancer’s body.
5. If you become sick or injured during or before class, ask permission to sit down or to be excused from class so that the teacher knows where you are at all times. When you do receive permission to leave class, report to a Counselor immediately and they will notify your parents. Please note that the Counselors CANNOT distribute any medication, over the counter or prescription.
6. Proper dance attire must be worn in class. See next section.
7. Beginning Pointe students may not wear their Pointe shoes at any time other than Pointe class. LMBC staff will not be starting pointe for very beginners during our camp. We appreciate and respect your studio teacher recommendations for you, as studio philosophies can vary when to start children on pointe. Your studio teacher knows your development, technique and strength and is better suited to guide you in when you should start pointe. All students not on pointe will be taking pre-pointe which is an excellent strength building class to prepare you for pointe.

DRESS

What to Wear:

GIRLS: Clothes: Solid colored or black leotard, pink tights. Jazz clothes may be worn for jazz classes. Shoes: bring all dance shoes- lyrical, turning shoes, jazz shoes, ballet and Pointe (only if you already dance on pointe). Hair should be up and held securely and neatly in place. No heavy jewelry.

BOYS: Clothes: white t-shirt, black tights. Shoes: black ballet shoes.

What to Bring:

Closed water bottles, Band-Aids, toe tape, needle and thread, small scissors, healthy snacks and your lunch, all dance shoes and any other items you usually bring to attend dance classes.

If you regularly use an ice pack for recurring injury or sore muscles, please bring with you. Ice packs will be provided only for emergencies.

LUNCH

Students will stay with LMBC Counselors during the lunch period. Students should come prepared with a healthy sack lunch each day. Please do not bring peanut butter due to allergy concerns. Do not send messy snacks, colored drinks, or fast food. Students and counselors will eat lunch together at the Temple Building during their short lunch break. Each student is expected to clean up their area after eating lunch; being respectful of the building and leaving it as we have found it each day is very important.
